This six-week program is chock full of one-of-kind experiences designed to build and launch a viable mediation practice before the program is completed. We meet one full day a week for a hands-on, progressive plan finding each mediator's niche in the professional world of conflict resolution.
You'll learn from the best in the business. Mediators and attorneys from around the United States will share their secrets to success as well as probable failures to avoid. Common themes emerge to help you build your confidence in your new career.
A business isn't a business without a legitimate, strategic business plan. We'll help you write your business plan including budgeting, marketing and identifying multiple revenue streams to diversify your presence in the field. A business plan is only as good as it is flexible and sustainable.
So many would-be mediators make the same fatal mistake when hanging their shingle... diving head first into the most populated arena they are aware of - the courts. That's not altogether bad, but most mediators already in that space are pretty stingy with market share. Fret not... we know a thing or two about several other missing gems of opportunities you probably never thought of.
The adage "Business is all about relationships." is as true today as it ever has been. Technology aside, and considered a mediator's paycheck still comes from a human being. That said, it's the right relationships that make the difference between success and survival. We know people that know people that... I'm sure you get the point. We'll hook you up!
Along the way, you will systematically assemble all the working pieces of your soon to launch mediation practice with a full understanding of and appreciation for each of its components. You'll know it inside out because YOU will build it... YOU will know what makes it 'tick'... YOU will know what to feed it and what to do to keep it strong.
Our mentoring mantra has always been "We're always here for you but you'll have to stay in touch and tell us what you need." So, as long as you reach out to us we'll be here, there, and everywhere you need us.
A mentor's understudy is referred to as a protégé, not a mentee... so don't even try. :-)
